The Intruders ft. Lassiter proudly continue the legacy of one of Philadelphia’s most influential R&B and soul groups. Formed in the 1960s, The Intruders were among the earliest artists associated with TSOP (The Sound of Philadelphia) and were original signees to Gamble & Huff’s Philadelphia International Records, helping define the lush, orchestrated sound that shaped modern soul music.

The group achieved worldwide recognition with timeless classics including “Cowboys to Girls,” “I’ll Always Love My Mama,” and “Together.” Original members Samuel “Little Sonny” Brown, Eugene “Bird” Daughtry, Phillip Terry, and Robert “Big Sonny” Edwards established a smooth, emotionally driven style that resonated across generations. Following the passing of Little Sonny, Bobby Starr assumed lead vocal duties and continued the group’s recording and performance legacy.

As original members passed on, the legacy of The Intruders was preserved by a succession of dedicated performers committed to maintaining the group’s authentic sound and professionalism. Today, under the leadership of Philadelphia native Earl Lassiter, the group performs as The Intruders ft. Lassiter, honoring the original arrangements while bringing renewed energy to audiences nationwide.
